Patched Hearts

I was writing a little note on Facebook a few mins ago, when my fingers began typing, while my brain slowly read the words.  We have been so busy with life that I haven't had the time nor energy to write,  But when I began this short note I could tell my brain was missing it.  


This most adorable little bracelet Maëlle is wearing is made of sterling silver, it is strung together by 27 tiny hearts.  Why hearts?  Good question.  You see this little bracelet means more to us then you think it does, by the end of this post you will understand.  It is made by a well known jewelry designer here in BC, for the Heart Network.  Why The Heart Network??  Another really good question.  As many of you know at birth Nevaeh was diagnosed with congenital heart failure.  From day one she fought and fought hard never batting an eye.  She managed to go against all odds and fight till she was 6 months old, until her tiny little heart could not fight any longer with out the help of a very important, very real, very scary operation.  If you can imagine a baby,  a small baby weighing no more then 10lbs. hand. Now imagine that little hand is clenched, tight.  Little huh? Maybe the size of a walnut. Well,  that was the size of her heart.  These amazing doctors drained her heart of her blood ran it through a machine, to keep it warm and safe.  They stopped her heart.   The doctors cut into her heart and patched the tiny holes that was causing all these difficulties.  They fixed her.  They made her better.  

These bracelets represent this.   These braclets are proudly worn by Nevaeh, Maëlle and myself to remind us how strong and amazing Nevaeh is. How strong we are as a family.  

They are also for sale.  We would want nothing more then all of you, our friends, family to also wear these beautiful reminders.

The bracelet is 7 inches long, and because it actually clasps onto the little hearts the size is adjustable.  We just cut a few of the hearts off for the girls.
