I was in the mist of blow drying my hair when it hit me. Today is the last day of Summer. What already, the days have slowly been creeping by and now here I sit middle of September. I knew it was coming and now it is here. And to be really honest I am not sure I am ready. I look back at our summer and it was wonderful, but am I really ready to let go of the sun, the popsicles, the garden, all the fun outside stuff we did and yet still to do?
So I am determined to accept "Fall" So here is my list of things to look forward to:
1. Sweaters and jeans
2. Fall colors
3. The smell of fresh crisp air
4. Jackets
5. Boots
6. The first snow fall
7. Our first sled ride
8. Hockey season
9. Thanks giving
10. Christmas Eve
11. Christmas Day (at home)
12. New Years
13. Maëlle growing and hitting all her milestones plus all her "firsts"
14. Maëlle's first birthday
15. Warm nights by the fire
16. Hot coca
17. Earlier nights & darker mornings. (means kids might sleep in)
18. Warm Pumpkin Pie
19. Christmas shopping
20. Never ending warm blanket cuddles.
And since we are on lists, I have one I need to update. I didn't get to finish everything, but I tried darn hard to. I will also be listing my fall/winter to do list soon.
Maëlle is already growing so fast and learning so many new things. She is sitting so independently now, she gets around by rolling. And fast. She is gearing up to cheer for her hockey team by practicing her clapping, and screeching.
Nevaeh has started her gymnastics class and LOVES it! She walks along the beam with such great concentration, adding a little giggle here and there. She not sure how to jump just yet, but she sure knows how to sit and let others bounce her around. Sitting cross legged. Remember crack the egg?
This Saturday is the Buddy Walk 2010. We missed last years so we are so excited to attend this years. It is really our one fund raiser we are super serious about. We set out harassing all our family and friends for donations and to come walk with us. And like always people have really pulled together and are helping us meet and exceed our goals! As of right now we have 33 registered walkers and donated over $1400.00. We feel the love and support! Thanks everyone, we love all you so much! We could not ask for a better support system!
I will have a house full this weekend. We are all so excited to have Auntie Amy, Nana, Grandma, Brie-Anna and Christian over for a visit. It will be a very busy household, but it will be beautiful! Our family are the only people who love my girls almost as much as I do. So the house I am sure will be exploding with love. We will be missing Auntie Sarah though.
And I leave this post thinking about all the fun memories we made this summer. And I look forward to all the fun memories to make this fall and winter. Keep a look out for my to do list this fall/winter. Check out my Summer list.
