[Melissa]

The word "fam·i·ly" Two or more people who share goals and values, have long-term commitments to one another.

People are like crayons?!

I love people watching, I have no idea why, but I find sitting far back from a huge crowd and skimming the ocean of people fun, interesting, a relaxing way to somewhat enjoy what the people your watching are doing.  I like to find people in large crowds who stand out.  Like the lady in the red dress and brown cowboy boots dancing up a storm.  I love it, oh how I wish I could be one of those people who are able to get up and dance.  REALLY dance.  Not a care in the world and do it with a smile.  At first glance you would think this lady is seriously crazy, but then as you really watch her she is smiling, laughing, swaying to the music.  She is not crazy she is having fun.  She is dancing with a partner, as a friend, or maybe a mother, or sister.  she is dancing with a man. A man who has downs syndrome.  And as I watch I smile, and my eyes  fill with tears.  Good tears ones that make me feel warm and wonderful.  Seeing this makes my life happier.  It makes me want to be that lady even more.  I keep skimming the crowd and find a man who is standing in between two other men who also have downs,  I have no idea why these people stand out to me.  But they do.  They are visibly having the time of their lives.  I love it!  It made my night!

We attended our towns summer party in the park.  It is filled with music, food, children of all ages dancing,  last night was pirates night.  There are tables of things to buy, and always people to watch.
Nevaeh ate her first corn dog, and we enjoyed a bag of freshly popped kettle corn popcorn.  Maëlle enjoyed her stroller ride, fresh air and loud comforting music.  Nevaeh made her way to the dance floor to only be met by a older child clapping with her.  She became very shy and hugged my leg, until the little girl left.  I loved that.  I loved that when she felt unsure she turned to me, she hugged me.  Clearly from someone else's view they would know I was her mommy.  I loved that!

I mean the girl has talent...
I see 2 hearts, a butterfly, and her name! Clearly she was born to color!

So my life lesson for this post is:

Every one is like a crayon, bright, colorful, fun, different, some new, some well worn.  So remember.  Treat yourself good (so you don't break or melt), live on and off the paper and always, always color with all the colors!

End this post with a cute sitter!
