Weekend in Wonderland!

14 June 2010
Our weekend began with some sun and a few great ideas!

Prepping for the BIG Tea Party was so much fun, I love getting down and dirty (okay more like red and tasty) mmmm kool-aid! I made something out of nothing, and that feels good. Sewing not my thing but I made a go of making the girls skirts for the party, it was fun and the end result was beautiful!

All dry and looking not so white!

We played in the sun, took some beautiful pictures of my one poor lonely flower in the front flower bed. And the we topped our Saturday off with a nice warm bath, with a baby doll!

THEN...

The day finally arrived!  Our Mad tea party was rescheduled last weekend to this weekend due t the rain.  Driving out to "Wonderland"  the rain once again started to fall and I was so worried the party would be once again moved to another day.  But all weather stations were promising sun by mid afternoon, so we trusted them.  By 12:30pm the sun was making it debut and we could not be more ecstatic!  I have never seen so many girls with their iphones checking the weather in my life and probably never will again.

The day started with great friends, we had our make-up and hair done, it was marvelous!  We sipped on mimosas, and snacked on little sandwiches.   Fruit, there seemed to be a never ending supply of fruit, and I think Nevaeh ate most of it.  I mean this was just the begging.

After we were in our characters, we traveled over to the make shift  "wonderland"  this wonderland was awesome!  No detail was left behind.  Their were tables with trinkets of old clocks,  tea cups, & keys. Frames and heats hanging from the trees.  We had flamingos everywhere some staked in the ground the others we let roam free (the little loves).  The tables we covered in food, and treats, "eat me" cakes, "drink me" punch, tea cups and saucers, hanging lanterns.... it was an absolute picture of beauty!

My most favorite part of the day was seeing my girls happy, and loved, every person there held and spoke to them with care, love and respect.  They really love them with everything that they have, and it shows, when Maëlle was being held she was always smiling, she never cried for longer then a min without being swept up into loving arms and cradled or rocked.  Nevaeh played and laughed, she had a amazing time.

There are so many things I love about summer, but one thing you will always have no matter the weather,  is great friends!
