Fam·i·ly

[Melissa]

The word "fam·i·ly" Two or more people who share goals and values, have long-term commitments to one another.

An amazing glance

This beautiful country we live in... No words can describe the feeling I get when we hop on the ferry and head out to the Island. I am always reminded of the few family holidays we took when I was little out to the island. I always remember this place being magical. A place I only dreamed of once in awhile. I remember wanting to always run away and move to this wonderful place a place where you had to hop on a boat and sail to, other then plane there is no other way to get on or off. I love the feeling of the wind blowing through my hair the cool breeze from the salty water. The two hour ferry ride is never long enough, I always find myself full of disappointment when I have to get back into our car and wait to be directed off.

This weekend we visited this magical place. And we shared it with our girls. The ferry ride there was in the evening we witnessed the most beautiful west coast sunset. That night the air was a little cooler then I would have liked, so the girls enjoyed the views from inside, but I snuck out to take it all in! I truly felt like Rose from the Titanic....

After a good nights rest we visited a market in Coombs which is famous for it goats that live on the roof. I remember this place as a child known only for that, Goats. Now I remember this place as a great place to shop and pick up unique gifts, nick knacks, trinkets, food items really anything your little heart desires. This place has something for everyone young and old. Something for the artsy type, or the home body, the cook, and even the hard to buy for aunt.

While the girls shopped the boys talked...

After a long morning of shopping and looking we drove to the most beautiful place to play. The sun was warm, the tide was out, the sand was calling our names. Each little puddle of salty water we splashed our feet through was warmed by the suns rays. My little loves belonged here. They drank every ounce of this lovely little cove with huge gulps. They breathed in the salty air and and splashed in the warm water. We didn't want to leave but a poopy diaper and a hungry babe was calling the shots.

The end of our trip was bitter sweet because it always ends with that wonderful ferry ride. Like I said in the beginning of this post. A very cherished childhood memory, that I am looking forward to sharing with my girls. Again, and again. I would have like to visit with family while we were there, but things didn't work out. It gives us a great excuse to do this all over again, soon! Promise!
