I strive on these daily things we like to call schedules or routines. Our day runs like clock work and everyday seems to kinda be the same. From the time we wake up till we go to bed.
Nevaeh naps at the same time every day and she normally naps for the same length of time. Bless my baby she naps for 3 hrs!
Maëlle eats at the same time and her sleeping is becoming more and more routine. We give baths everyday at the same time and we all have bedtimes.
I feel these daily routines are so important in my girls life. They know what is happening and when it will happen. What is expected and what is not. What is right and what is wrong.
But...
It is the time in between that I love.
It is the time in between where life happens. Where we can be fun and spontaneous. Where we make memories that will last, way past these daily routines. We wont remember about what time they went to bed, but how we put them to bed. The bed time stories, or dance, sometimes we snuggle and I hum twinkle, twinkle little start or hush little baby. Or the time daddy gave Nevaeh a bath and he made such big slashes in the water it was so wet everywhere, but we didn't care we did it to hear you laugh. Oh how you laughed!
This is the time you dance, laugh, get down on the floor and become a child again, live like your kids live, see what your kids see. It is the time in between that makes my day full.
Then we get back to our routines and schedules. Eating our veggies, but don't worry.....
Chocolate pudding is always just around the corner!
